A balisong opens and closes by fanning its freely pivoting handles, the trick that makes butterfly knives both flashy and restricted in many places. The Stained finish skips paint entirely: lemon and mustard are dripped onto the steel to force a patina, leaving uneven, organic discoloration. The result is a chemically aged surface no two of which mark up quite the same.
