About the Stiletto Knife

How the Stiletto drops and what it costs

The Stiletto Knife is a rare special item inside the cases that include it, sharing the roughly 0.26% knife/glove slot with the other models in that case's pool. You cannot target a Stiletto specifically by opening cases; you either pull whatever model the case rolls or buy the exact finish on the market. Because demand is high but supply is spread across many finishes, the plain Vanilla Stiletto and the cheaper patterns (Night, Boreal Forest, Safari Mesh, Stained, Blue Steel) form the affordable entry point, while Doppler, Marble Fade, Fade and Tiger Tooth command the premium. Tradable and identical in stats to other Stilettos, the Vanilla version is a common first knife for players who want the flick animation at the lowest cost.

Finish landscape

The Stiletto carries the standard active-case knife finish set. The headline gradients are Fade (full pink-to-yellow burn, valued by fade percentage), Doppler (Phases 1-4 with the rare Ruby, Sapphire and Black Pearl draws), Gamma Doppler (with the rare Emerald), and Marble Fade (with the sought Fire & Ice layout). Metallic and treated finishes include Tiger Tooth, Damascus Steel and Ultraviolet, which on this model only appear in the high-float-capped, near-mint condition band. The pattern-driven finishes are Case Hardened (blue-gem seeds), Crimson Web (web placement), Slaughter and Marble Fade. Rounding out the budget tier are Blue Steel, Stained, Night, Boreal Forest, Forest DDPAT, Scorched, Safari Mesh and Urban Masked.

Float behaviour on a thin blade

Finish wear matters less visually on the Stiletto than on a rifle because the painted area is small. Gradient and treated finishes (Doppler, Gamma Doppler, Marble Fade, Tiger Tooth, Damascus Steel, Ultraviolet) come in a restricted float range and effectively only exist in Factory New to Minimal Wear, so condition shopping there is about price, not look. Wider-range finishes like Case Hardened, Crimson Web, Slaughter, Blue Steel and Stained can scale into Field-Tested and beyond, where the slim blade hides scratches better than a large surface would, making well-priced higher-float copies a reasonable buy.

Stiletto versus other knife models

Against the budget models the Stiletto wins on animation feel and silhouette; against the icon models it wins on price. The closest comparison is the Talon Knife (Prisma 2 era), which sits a tier above in demand. If you want a curved, aggressive look the Karambit or Talon is the pick; for a clean, modern, front-opening switchblade with a faster, snappier deploy, the Stiletto is the standout, and its mid price keeps the desirable Fade and Marble Fade variants more attainable than on the icon models.

Frequently asked questions

When was the Stiletto Knife added to CS2?
It was introduced in Operation Shattered Web on November 18, 2019, as one of six new knife models in that update.
Is the Stiletto Knife expensive?
It is a mid-tier knife model. Plain Vanilla and budget patterns are among the cheaper knives on the market, while Doppler, Fade, Marble Fade and Tiger Tooth versions cost more. It is consistently cheaper than Karambit, M9 Bayonet or Butterfly models.
What finishes does the Stiletto Knife come in?
The full standard knife set: Vanilla, Fade, Doppler (with Ruby/Sapphire/Black Pearl), Gamma Doppler (with Emerald), Marble Fade, Tiger Tooth, Damascus Steel, Ultraviolet, Case Hardened, Crimson Web, Slaughter, Blue Steel, Stained, Night, Boreal Forest, Forest DDPAT, Scorched, Safari Mesh and Urban Masked.
Can I get a Stiletto from a specific case?
No. The Stiletto is one of several knife models in the rare special-item slot of the cases that include it. Opening such a case has roughly a 0.26% chance of any knife or glove, and the model is random. To get a specific Stiletto finish, buy it on the market.
Does float matter on the Stiletto Knife?
Less than on a rifle. The painted blade area is small, so wear is harder to see. Gradient and treated finishes only exist in near-mint condition anyway, while pattern finishes like Case Hardened or Slaughter scale across conditions and hide wear well.
What is the cheapest way to own a Stiletto Knife?
The plain Vanilla Stiletto is the lowest-cost entry, followed by budget patterns such as Night, Boreal Forest, Safari Mesh, Stained and Blue Steel.
