How the Dreams & Nightmares Case drops and opens
Dreams & Nightmares Case, first sold Nov 17, 2021, sits in the active weekly drop pool: up to two containers a week drop through profile rank-ups. While a case is in the active pool, fresh copies hit the market every week, which keeps its price anchored — currently from $0.640 across 25 marketplaces. When Valve rotates a case out to the rare pool, new supply collapses and older cases appreciate for years; the dated history is in the drop-pool registry. Drop-pool registry →
Budget $2.49 for the store key on every opening — Valve made keys untradable in 2019, so no market discount exists — plus the case, which marketplaces usually sell below the cost of waiting on a drop. Expected return per opening: $1.40 against $3.42, about 41% before selling fees. For one particular skin, the direct buy is the better trade; tiles above carry the comparisons.
From this page's data: 72 items priced live, the 28-day median case price moved -15.7%. All prices recompute with every data snapshot.
