2023 Service Medal: how to get it and how levels work
To earn the 2023 Service Medal you level a CS2 profile to Rank 40 (Global General) by playing on official servers during 2023, then use the option to reset the rank back to 1. The medal is granted on the reset and appears next to your name in lobbies and on the scoreboard in place of the profile rank icon.
Every further Rank 40 reset in the same calendar year upgrades the medal by one level, and each level is a different color of the same design. The 2023 medal has 6 levels, so the top level means the rank was reset at least 6 times within one year: a visible playtime statement, which is why high-level medals are a rare sight in lobbies.
Valve has issued a Service Medal every year since 2015, and each is earnable only during its own year. The 2023 window closed on December 31, 2023: an account that did not reach Rank 40 in time can never add this medal, which makes it a permanent timestamp of that year's activity. Service medals never reach the market: unlike collectible pins, they cannot be listed on Steam or any third-party site, which is why this page shows no prices.
How do you get the 2023 Service Medal in CS2?
Reach Profile Rank 40 by earning XP in official matchmaking during 2023, then use the option to reset the rank. The medal is granted the moment you reset; each further reset in 2023 raises it one level.
Can you still get the 2023 Service Medal?
No. Each service medal is earnable only during its calendar year, and the 2023 window is closed. If it is not on an account already, it never will be.
Can you buy, sell or trade CS2 service medals?
No. Service medals are bound to the account that earned them and cannot be listed on the Steam Market or any third-party marketplace. That is why this page shows no price comparison: no price exists at any level.
